Steve Smith has several duo and group endeavors, and this is one that I hope to see around for a long time. I’m honored to develop and host the site for Hard Road.

The Art of Birth and Wellness, located in Las Cruces, is a group of midwives specializing in home births and women’s health care.
My initial involvement was simply to maintain and update the web site. I have completely redesigned the site. One of the new features includes a photo gallery. Soon we will be adding an events calendar, a personal online journal for mothers to use during pregnancy, and a discussion forum.

Sun and Earth, Inc. builds energy-efficient homes here in Las Cruces. I was originally contracted to do a site redesign. Our primary focus at the moment is search engine optimization.
I continue to update and maintain the site as needed.

Cruces Choppers, located in Las Cruces, builds custom choppers with an attitude. My intital involvement was to redesign the site. The client needed a photo gallery with lots of thumbnails to demonstrate the entire process of building a custom chopper.
At some point, Cruces Choppers began to take on a life of its own and we needed to do a redesign, shown below.

The Chamizal Festival is held each year at the Chamizal National Memorial. This is a folk festival with singers, songwriters, artisans, and other performers held to honor our Border. The Festival actually has year-round educational events.
My initial involvement was to design and maintain a basic informational web site for the festival in hopes of increasing festival attendance. Sadly, there is to be no festival this year (not due to lack of attendance), but hopefully we’ll be all set for next year!

FruChile is a spicy blend of fruit and green chile, produced right here in Las Cruces. You have to taste it to believe it! My initial involvement was to design a basic web site. However, that soon escalated into a full-blown shopping cart. See the image below.
I continue to update and maintain the site as needed. Future plans include a Spanish version of the site.

Camino Real Builders is a home construction company located in Las Cruces. The client actually designed this site using Microsoft Publisher but needed to have it polished and published. Thus, my involvement was to optimize the images, clean up the formatting, and upload the site to the server.

Sun Mountain Honey produces honey in the Las Cruces area. Although I did not design this site, my initial involvement was to maintain the web site. The client was using selling honey online using PayPal. Currently, they are not selling online. We are developing a new design for the site.
I continue to update and maintain the site as needed.

This artist happens to be my best friend. She used to live in Las Cruces, but now resides in Rhode Island. She does make some incredible pottery.
I continue to update and maintain Rising Sun Earthworks as needed.

Steve Smith is one of the premier mandolinists in the world and he lives right here in Las Cruces! My husband has taken guitar lessons from Steve, and his wife was a collegue while I was at the university.
My initial involvement was to redesign Steve’s web site, Desert Night Music. The redesign included a calendar that Steve can update with his upcoming performances and some mp3 clips from each of his CDs.
I continue to maintain and update the web site as needed. An upcoming project is to design the site for one of his groups, Hard Road.

COWPRA is a consortium of AGEPs located in the western US and Puerto Rico. My initial involvement with this site was to redesign it. The site is currently live, but has a couple of additional features to be implemented. The central focus of this site is to provide AGEP affiliates with a career center. Universities in this consortium can list open positions in a searchable databse. The next phase is to develop a searchable resume database for AGEP PhDs. The site has a discussion forum.
In addition to design, maintenance and update, I developed the resume database and events calendar.

NM-AGEP is a program funded by the National Science Foundation directed at increasing minority representation in graduate school and faculty in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The New Mexico portion of the program is located in Las Cruces and associated with New Mexico State University.
I designed the site and provided updates and maintenance for several years.

The Community Action Agency of Southern New Mexico is located in Las Cruces. CAASNM is a non-profit organization that works to help families in need of food, clothing, and/or shelter.
My initial interaction with CAASNM was to redesign their web site. The redesign included some Flash elements. I am still currently involved with maintaining and updating the site. Future additions include an events calendar and a photo gallery.

Las Cruces is home to The Border Book Festival, a wonderful organization for writers and readers of books. Each year, The BBF holds a festival with workshops and readings from regional authors.
My first interaction with The BBF was to do a redesign of their web site. Each year, the theme of the Festival changed and the web design had to be updated to reflect that theme. In addition, biographies of the festival artisans had to be updated.
Features of the site included event registration forms and volunteer forms. These forms were php-based. I maintained the site for two years.

Another early project was for the Doña Ana Arts Council located here in Las Cruces. The DAAC has activities all year long, one of the biggest being the Renaissance Crafte Faire. This site has undergone a major renovation to go along with their updated identity.
Features of the newly designed site include an events calendar, forums, password-protected areas for staff to exchange documents and other exciting interactive tools.
This was the original design:
